IGES President Nancy Colleton is the lead author on a new paper  in the latest issue of Aquatic Conservation. The paper explores two new games that will serve to educate students on the marine environment and inspire the next generation of stewards.

The importance of this style of educational game cannot be underestimated. As noted in the paper “Mobilizing marine conservation on a global scale is a tremendous challenge, especially as it involves motivating people who may have no physical connection to marine areas to experience and understand them.” These games serve as a critical link in establishing that connection, by offering players a chance to explore and learn about marine areas that they may not have had otherwise.
