Research Analyst and Social Media Specialist
Andrew Clark joined IGES in January 2014 as a research analyst, bringing environmental science, remote sensing, research, and writing skills to the organization. With a particular focus on story and message development, Mr. Clark supported the development of a NASA-funded publication presented at the 2014 World Parks Congress in Sydney, Australia.
With the book completed, Mr. Clark now focuses on social media strategies and communications for the NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) Education and Public Outreach (E/PO) Forums, supporting efforts to communicate science education information, resources, and events to the general public.
Mr. Clark’s prior experiences have included NSF-funded ecological field research projects utilizing remote sensing and mapping techniques in Alaska. Closer to home, he has used GIS techniques to analyze shale gas extraction in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. He holds a B.S. in both environmental science and systems engineering from the University of Virginia, and is a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the Ecological Society of America (ESA).
