Week 16: Final Project
Week 16 is the last week of the course. For your final project, you will return to the analysis of the volcano from Week 2. Complete the PBL process of developing your own hypothesis, collecting and organizing relevant information to examine your hypotheses, and present your conclusions.

Assignments
(You must complete the Final Project even if you don't need the points to get an A in the course.)

Individual: (by midnight Sunday)

  • Review the Final Project Rubric
  • Review the sample ESS analysis.
  • Review the ESS Model-Building Rubric.
  • Using your team's original or revised problem statement, build an ESS model.
  • Read your teammates' analyses.
  • Develop an individual analysis.
  • Develop support for the relationships in your analysis with evidence from your reading and research.
  • Submit your analysis to your Individual Portfolio in the Classroom for a grade.
  • Complete the Post-Course Survey in the Portfolio in the Classroom

Targeted Investigations in Environmental Science The TIES project examines humankind's use and disposal of chemicals, including the impact of decision-making on the environment and health. These issues center on linkages among: scientific content; concepts of data analysis; sociological concerns; economic considerations; and political perspectives.
