Week
Sixteen: Final
Taking Stock of the ESS Course
Week 16 is the last week of the
course. During this course, you have used jigsaw, a cooperative
learning method, to become an "expert" in a sphere and then
contribute to a team effort to understand the relationship of an
event to all four spheres. You have found ways to take what and how
you have learned into your own classroom. You have experienced
rubrics as a way of setting expectations, and self-evaluation and
peer evaluation (critical friend) as a way of assessing your
progress toward those expectations. What will you take away from
this experience?
This week, pull together
everything you have learned about Earth system science to complete
the final project. Reflect on your learning in your portfolio, and
in the Post-Course Survey in your Portfolio.
Assignments
1. Complete
the Final Project Assignment.
2. Reflect on
what and how you have learned in your Portfolio in the Classroom.
3. Complete the
Post-Course Survey in your Portfolio in the Classroom.

maintained by the Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at The Pennsylvania
State University. The database contains a variety of geographically
referenced data sets, representing both data generated by ESSC investigators,
and other data needed to support their investigations. See also

Earth
System Science Online The goal of this site is to serve as a
repository for Earth System Science education and research resources
- a starting point for your reference as you explore this expanding
interdisciplinary field, or a place to look for the latest ESS developments.
